In his Adult form in the tybw arc he is definitely Top 3 Gotei Captain and imo even no 1 over Zaraki and Shunsui (up to Tybw arc, not counting anything after)

"Youngest" captain is a funny thing to say. Age in soul society has never been fully explained. For example, Hinamori is younger than Toshiro, but appears to be older than him looking like a teen to early 20's appearance. Toshiro was seen in Isshin's flashback taking place before Ichigo was born where Toshiro looked like he was about the same age as in the main story taking place 15+ years later. Age for soul reapers appears work like the "maturity" of their power. As strong as he is, Toshiro's power is still in its infancy, so his older appearance could be the result of forcing latent powers to awaken. Not something he wanted to do. Kubo said if the if the petals melted, the power could consume someone not prepared. I know it's filler, but when Hyorinmaru came to life, he became completely subservient, treating him like a knight would to his young lord. Toshiro trained and has managed to tame his sword. The aging may just be a side effect of the power the Hyorinmaru trusting him with. This could just be an immature state as well meaning he needs to grow and mature naturally in order to access his true powers. It's funny when you compare him to Kenpachi who is a fully grown adult and strives find stronger opponents, but then subconsciously limits his own power. Toshiro subconsciously release the limiters.

I was hoping you'd do Hitsugaya! While agree he hasn't yet mastered his bankai, the potential revealed in his mature form - and the unexplored possible applications - make it one of the most powerful bakais we've seen. While I'd prefer to think that regardless of Toshiro's level of mastery, Gerard's possession of the Soul King's heart places him outside any shinigami's ability to defeat - but Kubo's answer to the question about the Quincy cross revealed within Gerard being a vulnerability makes me question that assumption.

I dont get it... So Toshiro avoids fighting at the last petal because his body cant handle his powerful Bankai. To fix this issue Toshiro trains really hard and starts to master his Bankai. Then he fights and the last petal disappears. Due to the this, his body automatically ages up to a form that can handle his powerful Bankai. Where's the nuance or trade-offs? Where's the risk or cost? He gets to age up and freeze literal concepts. And his cost for doing so is looking cooler and being in a more powerful form. Make it make sense please...

Toshiro doesn't want to physically mature. That's why his matured bankai halts progress for others 😂. That ability will evolve, change in function or disappear when he finally allows himself to permanently age. Old man toshiro will be unbeatable, if he survives that long.

His ability to freeze and render virtually everything frozen and compromise any opponent's abilities is a strong suit, imagine seeing him go up against hell's monsters in this state. Opposites, ice vs monsters from hellfire. Toshiro is definitely one of Soul Society's best.

Toshiro is top 10 in the verse as of the latest Hell arc for sure, among the captains he's top 5, I'd say the top 5 are Kenpachi, Shunsui, Byakuya, Toshiro, Mayuri. Byakuya and Toshiro are interchangeable, Byakuya is just a more versatile fighter using Kido, mastery of shunpo, while Toshiro mainly focuses on using his zanpakuto, not saying he can't use kido or mastery of shunpo but we just never saw him use kido in the series iirc. As for their Bankai's, honestly, I'd give it to Toshiro too bcs even after Byakuya's training at the Royal Palace we only got to see him use 1 new move and that's it. Whereas Toshiro got an actual power upgrade. A hopium of mine that we'll get in the Hell arc is Toshiro got stronger to the point that his shikai will have the appearance of the bankai, with the wings, tail. And his bankai is now the adult form, or like Rebirth said, he's perfected it to the point that he won't become an adult anymore and will have the power of the adult form while physically stay the same as a kid. But that's just my headcanon lol. Also, hope his fight with Gerard in the anime is extended too and the moment he uses Shikai Hyoketsu, Gerard doesn't immediately break out of it.

Toshiro is op but let's not forget how op kid Kenpachi was.IMO, He was the real prodigy of soul society.

Hitsugaya just had it rough throughout Bleach . When he finally tapped into his praised potential as a prodigy, it was against an opponent who was just way too ass op. Even with 2 of the strongest captains, Toshiro could only temporarily immobilize Gerard. In my opinion he should have also been allowed to train in the soul king palace. By the second invasion he would have soloed.

YWACH's Almighty is a sight-based ability, so anything that interferes with the senses and is sufficiently powerful like say, Kyoka Suigetsu, can still affect YWACH. Aizen's powers are hax specifically because they can fuck with the mechanisms by which other abilities function.

I personally loved the more grounded setting of the Fullbring arc. Ichigo had been fought Espadas in Las Noches, Captains and Lieutenants in Soul Society, his Zanpakuto spirit in Dangai, and finally the most powerful being in all the three realms at the time (Aizen). He sacrificed his powers for one last effort to imprison Aizen with the help of Gin, Urahara, Yoruichi, and Isshin. After that bombastic action packed arc, the character needed a less high stakes but far more *personal* battle. Ginjo took advantage of Ichigo's need to protect those he loves and the nature of Soul Society to be secretive to outsiders to manipulate Ichigo into trusting him and not turning to Urahara or Isshin to help. The final battle with Ginjo, and even the battle between Byakuya and Tsukishima, are some of my favourite battles in the entire anime. Byakuya, Renji, Orihime, Chad, Rukia all develop alongside Ichigo as well in this arc.

Idk exactly how true it is but there were some people saying that the Ise family sword is the blade that was used to dissect the Soul King and that's why their family was cursed. Like I said, idk how true that is but that would be kinda cool if that were the case. AND SPOILERS BELOW But if that is the case I wonder if the curse was broken since the original SK was killed and replaced?

I think i figured out how uryu escapes senjumaru His special trait is thar he somehow can bypass auswahlen... What senju seems to be doing is, pitting the enemies against their worst match ups she can imagine. She thinks uryu will be done with auswalen (seems like "you deserve this for betraying" lol ) but uryu is immune to auswhalen And then we finally learn WHY he can do that

I like how Shunsui Kyoraku was 4th wall savvy enough to use kido pretend to have wind powers in Bleach The Blade of Fate and Bleach Dark Souls on the Nintendo DS.

Can you give us a hint in terms of future bankai breakdowns: how many soul reapers do you conclude have revealed a mastered bankai (just a number, I don't expect you to reveal your list here and now)?

Shunsui's abilities are perfect for his status as Captain Commander. His realist pragmatism is also fits. In combat he's willing to do anything to rescue his side and end conflict immediately. Then outside of battle he, in cooperation with reformers, has brought true change to Soul Society for literally the first time in its history recognizing that the old ways are no longer viable. Shunsui is a lethal warrior and commander yet humble enough to happily share a drink with an ordinary human.

Kyoraku is one of my top 5 favorite characters. I hope his Bankai and flashback will be done justice. Don’t underestimate he went Bankai half dead.

something i find interesting is that Shunsui's shikai can "play" multiple games but his bankai only "acts out" one play
